Tip for April 2004

Remember we come to you to fix and train.
Quite a few of Wyvern Technology’s clients have been experiencing problems lately with getting on to the Internet. Instead of getting the chosen web site, they get the message Page not displayed. Very frustrating indeed!
We all know that ISPs (Internet Service Providers) have been having problems lately because of the number of viruses sending out email messages.
Howsomever, the problems can often be solved by using Netscape Navigator as your browser instead of Internet Explorer. The former is freer from Spam and also allows you to stop the dreaded popups. You can download it free from www.netscape.com and it is very similar to what you are used to.
If you remember, I published a tip some time ago warning you against sending multiple emails in the To: box. I advised instead sending them BCC as this way you were not breaking any privacy laws as the emails arrived addressed to Undisclosed Recipient.
Like all good ideas this seems to have run into trouble. One of my clients was wondering why he wasn’t getting any emails from me. He discovered that they were in the Spam folder because they weren’t addressed directly to him.
I have also the last couple of days been getting back emails that have been addressed to Undisclosed Recipient, so obviously these are being rejected for possibly the same reason.
Hmmm. Back on goes the thinking cap. Any suggestions gratefully received.
BTW I now have a program that will get rid of Kazaa permanently and a way of not getting those irksome messages to send a report to Microsoft.
